Adeline

D: Just got home from the hospital this afternoon, so here's the picture version of Adeline's birth.

Alicia's water broke at 8, and she started contractions shortly after. We got ourselves all packed up, dropped Everett off at Julie's, and headed to the hospital. Here's Alicia, in the middle of labor.

Adeline was born at 2:45am. She had the cord around her neck, so she was blue when she was born. I hoped when they washed her hair it would turn red, but no, it stayed black. To me, her eyes look dark blue. Others say her eyes look dark.

Jackie brought Everett to visit that afternoon. Alicia had read that it's best for the older sibling if mom is not holding the baby when he comes in. It worked out that Adeline was getting a bath when he came in, so Everett got lots of mom snuggle time. He was really wary of the baby at first, but he warmed up to her. He poked her, pointing out her nose, mouth, and eyes.  

We are a happy family!
