Easter, Ev, projects, baby 2!

This is the only footage I got from Everett's Easter egg hunt but it shows the general idea of what he would do.

Kira came over to decorate Easter eggs with me and afterwards she gave us a puppet show.

Maybe our rice is extra sticky. Maybe our son just has skills.

We got out Everett's potty chair to have him start getting used to it.

He has been saying "cracker" really well recently. In this video he says it first at about 3 seconds, but he has a cracker in his mouth so listen carefully.

I really can't explain what he is doing in this video. Is he being attacked by invisible forces? Is he practicing for a really long, dramatic death scene for a play?

Recent acquired skills/favorite things to do 

Everett had two pairs of pj pants that had almost the same pattern on them. So I decided to turn one of the pants into a shirt so that he would have a pj set. The shirt isn't the most beautiful thing in the world, but it works. The process was simpler than I thought it would be, though a pattern or tutorial of some kind might have helped.

I finally came up with a way to turn the bumper pad we have into a quilt without cutting it apart or using a sewing machine. Will it hold together for good? I don't know, but I am okay with that. It won't even be a rectangle. But I am good with functional. It is not done yet, but here's my progress so far. 

This is the pancake I gave to Dallin to let him know we are expecting Baby 2. (The pancake is covered in peanut butter and green maple syrup. I made it green so that the letters showed up.)

Answers to possible questions, etc.

We are hoping for a girl, but a boy would be nice since we would have everything for him already. We are super happy either way.

The ob/gyn said there are no red flags so far.

We were hoping to have a kid about two years after Everett. Baby is due November 10th (ultrasound indicated a few days after). (Ev will go to nursery in one month!)

I was relieved when the ultrasound indicated we are not having twins.

It is extra awesome that Dallin's cousin and his wife are due to have a baby the week before we are. They live just up the street from us. 

I am feeling pretty fine. I have been less nauseous than when I was pregnant with Everett, only throwing up every few days. I have been more tired than usual, yay sleep! My appetite and body temperature seem to be fluctuating, but I could be crazy. So yeah, nothing bad at all so far.

The baby will be born in Spokane unless some unforeseen change in our life path occurs. 

General Conference, Playing at the park/home/Julie's

General Conference

I love General Conference! I feel like it is a holiday. I saw an article comparing it to a series of TED talks. There was such a variety of topics discussed, all about how to live better lives and live in the world today. They talked about everything from addiction, selfishness, pornography, and technology, to communication, forgiveness, integrity, and service. You can read or watch the talks here.

Everett wanted us to pay attention to him instead of Conference. He was very good throughout the whole thing though, playing just fine by himself.

Ev has had a runny nose for the last forever. The first couple weeks he also had some coughing and other such funness and was quite cranky. But recently, despite his constant drip, he has been a happy camper.      He even took on a whole beach towel as his handkerchief. 

 

Ev and I went to Manito Park yesterday with Kira and Grandma Marr. We stopped by the rose garden which was beautiful without even being in bloom yet. And then we went to a playground. E liked to run down the path, slide down the slides, and draw with sticks in the sand.
