piano, peek-a-boo, daddy, glasses

A: Me playing with a flying Everett

Everett and I playing the piano. Though it is more difficult for me to play when my view of the notes is blocked, and my fingers are being played with, it is more fun this way. Normally I sing while I play, but not this time.

This next video is of the most enjoyment Everett has ever gotten out of peek-a-boo. Sorry for the bad angle that cuts parts of Everett's face out at times; I was using both hands to cover and uncover my face.

Everett loves having his daddy home to play with him.

I'm guessing that since every member of my immediate family wears corrective lenses, and there's even worse eye problems on Dallin's side, no matter how many carrots I force-feed my children, I should probably start an optometry savings fund for them.

I'm so punny

A: Dallin doesn't appreciate my puns.

From today:

While we were bathing Everett, Dallin pointed out some redness in Everett's folds and said, "I think it's a rash." to which I responded, "Let's not be rash".

During Family Home Evening we were discussing people in the scriptures that felt inadequate in being able to fulfill their assignments from the Lord but received strength from Him to do so. Dallin listed several people including Jonah. I then said, "Jonah sure was overwhalemed".

bouncer, talking, swing

This is of Everett the first time we put him in his bouncer two weeks ago. He didn't really know what to do.

This is of him in it today.

This is Everett talking with his grandma.

Everett getting excited watching his animal mobile while swinging.

This is from Valentine's Day when we all matched without planning it.

Today I walked home with Dallin from the barn. Everett had fallen asleep facing forward in the baby carrier. This made for quite the adventure getting myself out of it while keeping him asleep. He stayed asleep like this for about an hour.

Piano

A: I often play the piano with Everett on my knee. I play until he politely (albeit loudly) suggests that it would be better if I didn't. This morning I was playing hymns and Everett reached out and started hitting keys. I kept playing and he joined in every few measures, even hitting the right note at the right time once!
D: Alicia came and visited me at work with Everett dressed in overalls, so who could resist taking farm pictures with him? He got licked at least twice by the calves. In the picture where he's looking up at the camera while next to a calf, he had just gotten seriously licked up his shirt and face. You also now all get to behold what I look like at work. Fair warning.

Spokane trip

"Dear Dallin,
I am pleased to inform you that the Admissions Committee for the School Psychology Program at
Eastern Washington University has recommended to the Graduate School that you be admitted to the
Educational Specialist in School Psychology program beginning fall quarter, 2013.
Please fill out and return the attached form informing us of your intentions at your earliest
convenience. You will likely receive a letter from Graduate Studies asking you to confirm your
intentions with them as well. It is important to us, and to other students on the waiting list for
admission, to know as early as possible if you will be attending in the fall. . . . " !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A: We drove to Spokane for Dallin's grad school interview on Tuesday and to spend time with his grandparents, aunts, uncle, and cousins. They loved getting a baby fix. We had a relaxing, fun, and productive time.

Everett in his "tent".

Everett has recently discovered that he can grab and maneuver the pages of books.
He loves his caterpillar. He eats, bends, and grabs at it.

My mom found this picture of me. I think he will have my nose, but he has his daddy's eyes. He is chubbier. There's a similar smile. The lace, bows, and "headache band"(as my dad calls it) make me look more feminine, but we're both pretty bald in front. My mom says my hair was definitely more red as a baby than his is, but about the same length. Dallin says that Everett's double brow comes from Grandpa Jeff.

New Videos

Dallin has an interview for the School Psychology program at Eastern Washington University next week! We leave for WA tomorrow and thought we'd give you this quick video update before we leave:
Click on the link below to see videos of Everett. They are pretty much in reverse order with the cutest being the last few. Each is really short. Make sure your volume is on because the point of some of them is that E makes cute noises.

books, baby kissing, bedtime, videos

A:
I don't know if I'll be able to listen to my audio book while feeding Everett anymore, he turns his head looking for the source of the voices. I'm in the middle of two books, one is a dystopian novel and the other is about a Jewish rabbi. So the other night I had a dream about a Jewish dystopia. There was no bacon!

At first I thought it was silly to kiss Everett at all because he doesn't know what kisses mean and probably thinks they're weird. But now I can't stop myself from stealing one on his cheek every now and then. I make up for the weirdness he might feel from the kisses with hugs. Who doesn't love a hearty squeeze? Which reminds me of a quote, "A hug can turn your day around. . . . It's like an emotional Heimlich. Someone puts their arms around you and they give you a squeeze and all your fear and anxiety come shooting out of your mouth in a big wet wad and you can breath again." (from "Pushing Daisies" the t.v. show)

Sometimes Everett gets really cute at bedtime. His Grampa Marr says that Everett thinks it will keep him from having to go to sleep. I do feel like I miss a chance to see his adorableness when I leave him in his bed to indicate it is time for sleep. I come back a little while later and he's still cooing up a storm.

I've taken a few cute videos of Everett but I haven't figured out how to get them on the blog yet. In the mean time, here are some videos of him from our trip to San Jose for Axel's blessing. Thank you to Shannon, Jeff, and Axel.
