Christmas and Beyond

Kid quotes

Everett-
"I'm thinking of being in the army. Then I'll finally have my destiny of using a sword."
(after being told his haircut looked handsome) "I was thinking I look like a jedi."
Everett (about to spray the sink hose into his mouth) Alicia: "Don't do that." Everett: "But I don't want the hiccups."
"I know what to do. You do what I do. Put your feet on this part of the chair next to you and then you're not sitting by mommy, you're sitting by your feet."
(talking about a pond by his school) "In the morning it is beautiful, 'cause the sun reflects it and it is bright."

Adeline-
"When I grow up, I want to be a bunny."
"Can I go outside. Can I go in the sun please?"
"I am a studier. I study about animals."
"I don't want to clean up the kid toys. I want to clean up the baby toys because he's cute. (a few minutes later) I cleaned up the baby toys because I like Abram."

Peter-
"I'm so tired and hungry and I don't know what to chew on."
"I'm a donut guy. I give donuts to everybody in the world."
(Getting jelly out of the fridge at an inappropriate time.) "I'm trying to see if jelly's yummy."
"I'm helping my mommy. That's a good choice. Jesus wants us to make a good choice."
(Runs, trips, falls) "I sloweded down."
"I magicalled turned it into a castle ship."
"Mommy can't find her ring so we need to use our ninja skills to find it."
"I couldn't do it. Only when I'm an astronaut."
"Bees lightning" (instead of Buzz Lightyear)
Everett: "ooo I know where this one goes." Peter: "Good thinkin'."
"I'm the statue of liberty!"
"I'm not going to be a worker when I grow up, I'm going to be batman. Batman to the rescue!"
(Crying at 3 am) "I want my mommy. I didn't have zert' (dessert)".
"Rocket ship to the moon!"
"Jump to the sun and burn you!"
"Super hero to the rescue!"

Playing in/near our yard

One day Peter and Adeline got themselves stuck in this tree for a while.

I set out to find what tree would be the best for them to climb in our yard and we discovered the juniper out front to be fantastic (except maybe not as it gets warmer if too many ants climb on it).

Rope/string tying is a favorite activity around here, even across our front porch
(One morning Everett tied himself to one of these poles with his backpack straps while waiting for the bus, and he was stuck as the bus pulled in. Dallin had to go out in his pjs and untie him while a line of cars and a busload of kids looked on.)

Some of the Valentine's Everett made for classmates

Playing with Legos at home
Peter playing with new sets from the Beagleys for Christmas
Everett built quite a few very symmetrical "spaceships" and distinctly colored "ninjas" that had powers based on the elements

Story-time about police officers

playing with the loving family dolls

yes, that man is hanging upside down from that window

As I see all the log and chicken trucks go by or pass timber yards it seems like I'm in a giant game like Settlers of Catan and our resources in Nacogdoches are wood and chickens.
After Abram's first time in nursery.
The teachers in there say he is adorable and does great.
